We are excited to be back for the Fall of 2022. The Bluegrass Lacrosse League's primary commitment is teaching the game of lacrosse while providing an unmatched experience and instilling a love for the game.
The Bluegrass Lacrosse League (BLL) is a lacrosse league located in Louisville, KY. Players register and are drafted to a team after the designated combine day for your son's age group in September. Based on age and experience, players are placed in one of the four BLL programs (Ninjas, Dragons, Reapers, or Huskies) and in one of the two divisions (A or AA). Every player gets drafted to a team. By having divisions, the BLL is able to offer a very competitive league and ensure all players will get better, maximize their game time, and have more fun.
This year, the BLL schedule is built to allow multi-sport athletes an opportunity to play lacrosse in the Fall, and is built around Fall breaks that have caused some issues in the past. We are excited about the new schedule and have added optional "BLL Skill Development Nights" for all BLL Middle School Divisions.

League Format
7v7 FORMAT

3 Midfielders, 2 Attackman, 2 Defenders, 1 Goalie

Only 2 poles are allowed on the field
-
Two 20-minute periods - running time
-
During playoffs, the time will stop under 2 minutes in the 2nd period if the game is within 3 goals
-
No long poles in the 2nd - 4th-grade open Division
Overtime
-
NO game will result in a tie. This is not soccer.
-
If after regulation play the score is even, a 10 minute sudden death overtime will immediately follow.
BLL Point System

2 Division points for a win

1 Point for an overtime loss

0 Points for regulation lost

What is the Bluegrass lacrosse league and how does it work?
The Bluegrass Lacrosse League is a lacrosse league located in Louisville, KY. Players sign up and are drafted to a team. Based on age and experience, players are placed in one of the 4 programs (Ninjas, Dragons, Reapers, or Huskies).
What team is my son on?
Teams are posted and emailed to everyone the day after The BLL Combine Day. To see when your son has his Combine Day, please see the schedule above.
My son has to miss the combine day, will he still be drafted?
Yes, everyone is drafted to a team. Please be sure to submit an ABSENT FORM if missing a date. Find the Absent form HERE
Do you have to have a "School" team?
This is not a school team league, it's open to all players. Everyone is a free agent and teams are balanced by age and skill. This is done to promote the growth of lacrosse in the state and keep the competition level high.
What days will my son have practice and games?
We have listed all BLL Skill Nights and game dates. Games will be played Sunday evenings and there are BLL Skill development nights in September and October. Please see the schedule above.
What happens if a game is canceled due to weather?
We will exhaust all options if a game is canceled - even if that means playing on another day of the week.

My son is missing one game is there a prorated rate for me?
We are sorry, but we are unable to offer any prorates for the league.

My son has never played competitive lacrosse or had a lacrosse team to play on, can we sign up?
The BLL was created for just that, now you have a team to play on and learn the sport. Lacrosse is a fast and physical sport, be sure he is ready to go!
