About the Paperweight Program

L4 Paperweights provides the ideal environment to learn, compete, and have fun. This program is all about learning through play and helping young athletes develop coordination, confidence, and a love for the game while being introduced to the core skills of lacrosse.

Designed for 1st through 4th graders, our program combines quality instruction with gameplay to maximize development and confidence.

Every Session - The Paperweight Process

Players will be divided into small groups based on age/experience

  • Players will be divided into skill/age-based groups to ensure every paperweight athlete gets the most out of each session.

  • Dividing into smaller groups allows for more attention from the coaches, and it makes keeping them engaged and having fun much easier at this age group.

  • Each session is thoughtfully designed to keep players engaged and improving.

50 Minutes of Instruction followed by 30 Minutes of Live Play

  • Stick skills

  • Passing & catching

  • Ground balls

  • Shooting

  • Footwork

  • Basic offensive and defensive concepts

Players finish each session competing in small-sided games on a shortened field, creating more touches, more decision-making opportunities, and more confidence than traditional full-field formats.

Equipment Needed

-We prefer that everyone has a helmet, stick, and gloves.

-Since they will be separated into groups, those players just starting and do not have gear will be in their own group!

-We will have extra gear to hand out if needed.

MORE INFORMATION

JUST PLAY.

L4 Paperweights is designed for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders who are new to lacrosse as well as players looking to continue developing their skills. Our small-sided format creates more touches, more opportunities to make plays, and more chances to build confidence in a fun, positive environment.

LEARN. PLAY. GROW.

Our coaches teach the fundamentals while encouraging creativity, effort, and teamwork. Beginners develop a strong foundation, while experienced players continue to sharpen their stick skills, decision-making, and lacrosse IQ through game-like reps.

DEVELOPMENT THROUGH REPETITION.

The fastest way to improve is by playing. With smaller teams and constant involvement, every player gets more opportunities to pass, catch, scoop ground balls, defend, and score. The format keeps athletes engaged and helps accelerate development at every experience level.

FUN WITH A PURPOSE.

Every session is built around learning through play. By maximizing involvement and keeping the game enjoyable, L4 Paperweights helps every athlete improve, gain confidence, and develop a lasting love for lacrosse.
